Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory contract
Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory contract.
Geoform was awarded the contract for precision alignment of the Drive Diagnostic (DrD) Vacuum Interface Plates, part of the assembly housing the most powerful laser in the world called the National Ignition Facility (NIF) at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory. Our job was to set the position of tooling spheres to coordinates provided by LLNL from laser tracker measurements taken at the actual facility. The contract was awarded based on technical capability, cleanliness of our facility and price.
The Project Management Institute, an organization with over 500,000 members in 185 countries, honored NIF as the international 2010 Project of the Year. Geoform, Inc. played a small but key role in the success of the project.
