Inspection of a part on the Zeiss CMM.  This machine is equipped with a scanning head.  You can see the probe lightly touch the part then scan over the surface collecting hundreds of data points each second.  The machine is accurate within about 2 microns for small parts.  Also notice the custom CMM probe built by Geoform for this specific part as well as the pallet-type fixture allowing us to measure 6 parts unattended.  Near the end of the video we show the whole program at 100x speed.
